Mother's Day and Dad's Birthday on the same day!

Tomorrow is not only Mother's Day but my fathers 71st birthday too! Needed to make a couple of cards!
Started with this cute vintage vibe card for Mom. Used the Apothecary Accents framelits to cut the shape for the sentiment.  Used the Morning Post Alphabet stamp set for MOM.  I finished it off with a flower made with the Boho flower punch, and topped that off with a Dahlia. Added a little bling on the sides with Rhinestone jewels.  My mom is truly beautiful inside and out, just had to reiterate that with the card. :)
Then on to Dad's card.  Started with a photo of him at I believe 4 years old.  I embossed the card stock with the stripes folder, used the ovals collection framelits for the photo and background paper.
Used the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set and Bitty Banner framelits for the Happy Birthday and finished it off  with Early Espresso bakers twine.  I love using photos as elements on my cards.  I really think it makes the card special.  I am sure my dad will like this one!

We are celebrating Mom and Dad tomorrow with brunch at a new restaurant that comes highly recommended.  I sure hope it is good!
I hope you have a Wonderful Mother's Day!
If you are a Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Caregiver or any woman who cares for others, I hope you
are showered with love and affection tomorrow!
If you are not, then I hope you shower that special woman or women in your life with love and affection tomorrow!
Mom - I love you to infinity and beyond!!!!

Butterfly Birthday Card for Sydney

Hello!  Hope you are doing well!
I am doing well and enjoying a day at home alone!  Pretty rare unless I am sick!
However today, I was able to get some cleaning and organizing done.
And even snuck in a little crafting.

I didn't make this card today (show you that later:)
This card was for my niece Sydneys birthday.
Used several different elements to make this one:
Scallop punch, Butterfly punch, embossing folder, Itty Bitty framelits, bakers twine and rhinestones.

I liked it, nice bright and cheery!

Be back soon!

Tri Fold Cards for the ladies

We are going to see Johns Aunt Lois today for her birthday.  John had on file a photo of her when she was a little girl, she is now 72. I think she will be pleasantly surprised to see this photo on her birthday card! I don't know about you but I love those old photos of family!
I also had my 2 favorite crafty twins birthday cards to make.  Since I am loving the framelits and tri fold cards I made 2 more of them for these 2 great ladies.
I used 4 of my favorite elements on these cards: 1.Tri Fold technique 2.Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder 3. Antique Faceted Buttons 4. Framelits

Since my daughter is on a rare visit, I made her this card letting her know how glad I am to see her and how special she is.

I am loving these tri fold cards so much that I may never go back to 2 sided cards :)
If you want to try one, use a piece of card stock measuring 5 1/2" by 12" and score at 4" and 8" on the long 12" side.  Fold and do your thing!

I hope you are having a lovely weekend!
And as always please contact me if you would like to learn how to make your own lovely cards and gifts!

A tri fold card for my mother in law

A big thank you to Nikki Toll for teaching the tri fold card at her class last week.  Although we made a Christmas themed tri fold card, I couldn't wait to try some other options!
And as luck would have it today is my mother-in-law Pat's birthday and my husband John had some photos of her from now and then that he wanted to incorporate into her card.
So I took those photos, grabbed some Twitterpated designer series paper and my new framelits and off I went.   I love these new framelits I am sure I will be using them alot.  I am really pleased with how this little card came out!  I hope she likes it and enjoys the photos!
I goofed and the card came out too thick, so it would not stay shut.  So I improvised and held it closed with a tiny clothespin embellished with a sweet little button.  "Improvise" and don't get upset when you goof up!  A very valuable lesson, very hard to learn! :)

A bright Birthday Card for Dawn

Monday was my craft buddy Dawn's birthday.  I made her this fun little card with nice bright colors and two of my favorite elements, pennants and polka dot embossing!  (inspiration came from a card I saw at convention)
I was also able to use one of the new free stamps I got at convention for the sentiment on the inside.
This sentiment describes my friend to a tee! Those darling little dahlias were also a giveaway from convention! Yea! Gotta love the giveaways!

Hope your are having a great week!

A lot of inspiration going on!!!!

Yesterday I attended my first quarterly Stampin' Up meeting hosted by Patty Bennett of
http://pattystamps.typepad.com/.  It was a great day of sharing and learning!!
I made these card fronts for swapping with the new Bitty Banner stamp set and the new card stock colors.
I swapped cards with 28 other creative Stampin' Up demonstrators!  That alone was worth the trip to Concord.  But I also enjoyed visiting with my dear friend Julia and her twin sister Judy.
We also made 5 projects and had a nice lunch!  It was a great day of crafting!!!

I was so inspired by all the cards I received in the trade!
So inspired that today my husband and I cleaned our garage and re organized my craft zone. He put a TV, DVD player, music player and a task light up for me! He is a sweetheart!

I hope you enjoyed the mild weather this weekend!
Funny, last weekend when we had our big double graduation party it was 106 degrees!  It was awful and this weekend it was nice and comfortable and breezy!

I will be back soon!

Thank You and Happy Birthday!

I was lagging a little on my Thank You cards to Julia and Judy (the craft twins) and I have 3 cousins birthdays to celebrate this Saturday. Had to get busy!!
I am a big fan of black and white, my second favorite colors are black and beige, so I am loving the Mocha Morning paper pack.
Used the Mocha Morning paper to make the Thank You and Birthday cards. I am loving this paper!!

Wanted to make a little gift to go with the Birthday cards.
I got to use my brand new Scallop Envelope Bigz Die (think I will be using that one A LOT!!)
Using the Mocha Morning paper I made these cute little envelopes and matching flower magnets. I sure hope my cousins like their cards and gifts! I do! :)
For the magnet I used the Blossom and Boho Blossoms punches. (more of my favorite new tools!)

Have a great week!

Organizing and a Birthday Card

I didn't get a whole lot done this weekend. However, I did go through my craft stuff! Got organized and even filled up a box of things to get rid of. My sweet husband even tried to make me a dowel rack for my ribbon. See the black thing on the right of the shelves? Only problem he didn't look at the size of the holes in the middle of the ribbon spools. Oops!! Not a big problem, he will replace with smaller diameter dowels and then I can hang my ribbon and easily get to it. I felt so bad, because he was so happy to surprise me with his creation. He is a sweetheart!
Since the table was clean and I could find everything, I went ahead and made 2 birthday cards for friends with birthdays this week.
I love simple elegance and that is what I went for here. Not only elegant but easy to do!
I used the Vintage Wallpaper embossing plate to get that nice pattern on the pink paper. I then wrapped a piece of brown satin ribbon around the card and tied a knot in the front of the card.
I then used a stamp and embossing powder for the lovely pewter frame around the Happy Birthday. I am pretty sure that powder/heat embossing, and paper embossing are my two new favorite things to do!
I hope you had a good weekend and didn't forget to spring forward this morning! :)
